It is utterly devastating to see the bevy of working Mac computers, which could be fixed and put towards a better cause easily, being thrown away. I have enquired with the council but they are simply far too lazy to fix this gross issue. If you are coming for good customer service and a smiley face, don't.

The staff were all fantastic and incredibly helpful, even just before closing on a Sunday!Charges for special item disposal (appliances, electronics etc) are better than some other centres, and very reasonable.Fantastic service all round!

i was initially nervous to recycle here as i had a lot of things to recycle and wasn’t sure what i could/couldn’t recycle out of it. but i had such a good experience here and was helped by a lovely attendant in the recycling depot. made this stressful process for me a lot easier!

There is not much to say about a waste depot? It hardly has charm nor romantic vistas, but this one is well designed and efficiently run. Covid Safe means delay as queues form for rationed entry with checking Vax certificates adding to the experience. But hey! Everyone is doing their job with courtesy and the processing is beneficial to those who care about the impact of waste and the business of making money out of trash.

Try to charge $68 for metal which they get payed for or it gets taken for free

I have mainly gone for e-waste/polystyrene/cardboard and not had a problem, other than it does not accept the plastic bags used in said packaging, that has to go into your bin at home.Pleasant staff, clean facilities and open on the weekends make this my #1 destination for recycling.

I dont understand why, as a rate payer, I am treated with suspicion, and the default assumption by staff is that I am trying to put one over them. I would have thought that it is in the council's interest to be welcoming and friendly so citizens dont seek alternate means of getting rid of rubbish. Everytime I go, I am made to feel unwelcome in one way or another.

Very unprofessional staff. Went there with small truck and they didn’t let me go inside. I have to travel all the way back home wasting time there. Atleast pick up the calls when customers make calls and write clearly who can come in or what sort of cars you want to dump the hard rubbish there.Thanks

Attended the facility to drop off several obsolete electrical items including a number of 'dead' batteries. Facility opens at 1pm and I arrived at 12:55pm. I asked the boom gate operator whether I can proceed to the e-waste recycling section which he duly allowed me into the facility and I drove to the relevant area. Prior to disembarking and unloading equipment from car, I was informed by an individual in the e-waste section I was early and basically advised to leave the facility. At 12:58pm, I enquired with the over-zealous individual whether I needed to completely leave the facility and return at 1:00pm. He confirmed this was the case so I complied. Only difference is I drove straight home and threw the obsolete electrical equipment and the 'dead' batteries in the landfill bin. Moving forward, e-waste material will be going to landfill. So much for trying to be a responsible ratepayer. Well done Boroondara. Great use of ratepayer funding on personnel that are devoid of any semblance of common sense!
