Farleigh Sugar Mill
In the mid 18th and 19th century, the Industrial Revolution was in full swing. One of the main priorities of the movement was the mechanisation to pull away from a labour intensive workforce for little output. One of the main mechanics of this idea, was that the machines would give more output, by assisting a human worker within its operation. This sugar mill is a prime example of this. In the late 20th century, my black great great grand-daddy was forced to come from Fiji. He was a sugar mill worker. He is now a proud member of the union. He is a socialist.
