Unfortunately, we had to say goodbye to our handsome boy, a 10 year old Husky, Spencer last week. From the moment I called to let reception know we were bringing him in from Bannockburn to our arrival and the assistance to getting him inside to the care he received from 3 vets and other staff overnight, I cannot fault this facility. The vets investigated a number of possibilities for why Spencer was so unwell and whilst we sadly were not able to avoid the inevitable, the vets were fully open and forthcoming about costs and care required. We were kept up to date overnight about the care he was receiving and whilst we had to make the heartbreaking decision to send him over the rainbow bridge the following morning & all aspects were handled with the utmost care and compassion. We were given time to spend with Spencer before saying goodbye and at no time were we rushed into making a decision about his aftercare. Even when we eventually made the decisions about having him cremated & the memorial keepsakes for us to keep his memory alive, this too was handled with empathy and the greatest of care. Many thanks to all the staff and vets at Geelong Animal Emergency, if anyone needs to have their furbabies cared for at anytime, I could not recommend them highly enough!

Very caring and compassionate. We took our cat there tonight after he collapsed suddenly at home. They took him straight in, no waiting. Unfortunately he had already passed and there was nothing they could do. However they wrapped him in a blanket, gave us time to grieve in the room with him and say our goodbyes. The lady we dealt with was so kind and told us our options. We have organised cremation through them.I see lots of reviews saying this vet is a rip off and take your money. This was the complete opposite for us. Highly recommend Geelong Animal Emergency.

I want to say a big thanks to Dr David Hall of Advanced Vet Care and the veterinary staff of Geelong Animal Emergency who cared for our beloved Black Lab, Jack (our fur son), on Friday 7 February.Because of a wound to his mouth several weeks ago, Jack developed an abscess near his jaw which caused him significant pain when he opened his mouth beyond that necessary to sip water. As a result, his food had to be mashed so he could lick it up without pain.Intermittently, he would unwittingly open his mouth too much and get a sharp, unexpected pain - episodes like this and the constant background pain from the abscess, contributed to him becoming depressed and fearful of food and the places where was when he got these sharp pains. It was a very distressing situation for him and us, his parents.Well, with care and expertise, Dr Hall located and treated the troublesome abscess and today, a week after his surgery, he returned to the dog beach he grew up on, where he could run and swim free and unrestricted with all his mates. His excitement at his new found freedom from pain was palpable - he was literally shrieking for joy, as we were! So, thanks David Hall and all the staff involved - we are so grateful and relieved we still have our darling Jack.

Very unsatisfied and highly disappointed with the service. Our Cat suffered vomiting and loss of energy and we decided to give Geelong Hospital a go. She was admitted overnight and was discharged the next day, we got calls about fees and charges every couple of hours, but after discharge and a bill of $3200, there was no diagnosis or treatment. At no point we were told the amount was excluding the deposit we already paid. Our Cat became worse after getting home and started throwing up brown liquid through her mouth and nose, became even more lethargic and her condition got worse. Our local Vet picked up a blockage straight away and we had to rush her to another Hospital. For a Hospital to not have picked this up after numerous blood, urine, ultrasound and X-ray was shocking. I am not sure what they charged me for but I am very unhappy with the service.

Did fix the issue with my dog and the vet nurse was excellent but the billing was extremely expensive and communication around how expensive it was going to be was very poor. Left the place feeling like I had been thoroughly ripped off. They know people love their pets and charge outrageously because of it.

The staff are quite friendly, but they are a lot blunter than I’m used to. They are also extremely expensive (circa 2-3 times what I’d pay at my local vet), so if the issue can wait until your local vet opens, that is probably a better option.Unfortunately on this occasion we had to say goodbye to our Maltese terroir that we’ve owned for 9 years. She had hemorrhagic gastro, which although it can usually be treated, due to her having a variety of other very serious health problems that we only just found out about from the blood test they did (the two main ones being severe kidney & liver failure), we had to make the difficult decision to put her down as even after spending a few days in hospital to treat the gastro, she would’ve only had a few painful weeks left before succumbing to kidney failure, which couldn’t be treated.

We took my boy Ted to the emergency yesterday afternoon, after his breathing became very challenging for him and the nurse, I'm so sorry I didn't get her name, rushed him straight in, within minutes he was on oxygen, sedated and on a monitor.Only once was he comfortable did they worry about paperwork. It was a very worrying time for us, but the staff here were nothing short of incredible. They kept up up to date with his progress and thankfully we picked him up at 2 o'clock this morning.I really can not thank every member of staff enough for the care and attention they gave my boy.
