Gulgong Pioneers is one of the best historical museum I have been too. They have a large variety of old time pieces on large premises. The volunteers that we spoke to a where very friendly and provided helpful information. If you are passing through Gulgong it is definitely worth a stop. There is alot to see.

Oh my goodness......what a little (or should I say massive) treasure trove this place is. Took the map, looked at the arrows didn't use either, lost my husband and my dad. Mum and I wandered around in absolute awe of the vast and varying collections. If you are near, stop and have a look. We thought this is where we blew our $12 adult admission, but NO, NO we didn't. We were all talking for ages afterwards at all the different things we saw. 10/10

Gulgong is a 19th century old gold town in the Midwest of New South Wales, Australia. It has a population of about 3500, 300 km from Sydney. On the way from Mudgee to Dubbo, we stopped at this quaint place. We saw the museum.Established in 1962, the Gulgong Pioneers Museum is home to one of the finest collections of Australiana in the country.Located in the old Times Bakery and Produce Store in the heart of historic Gulgong, this award winning museum houses numerous interesting displays within its historical buildings:– Domestic Tools and Utensils– The Old Time Print Shop with operating historic printing machines– Farm and mining equipment– Horse drawn vehicles– Early Photographs– Aboriginal and geological artefacts– Period Clothing– Buildings dating back to Gulgong’s heyday during the turbulent gold rush days of the 1870’s

This beautifully laid out display of all kinds of stuff from the decades is a credit to the volunteers who run the museum. The ladies on the door both lovely. It's a large thought out display, well maintained and kept.Well worth the $12 entry fee.

A great experience, so much to see here, great collections of just about everything, so allow yourself the best part of the day for your visit and wear comfortable walking shoes. Bring your water but don't bring any other bags etc as there's a lot of walking with minimal places to sit or rest. Your ticket does allow you to leave and come back same day if you wish. We went across the road to the RSL for $10 Chinese lunch.

It's a great place to take the kids. There are rooms full of things to see that are no longer in use. Typewriters in the early model computers. Kids wouldn't know what a dial up phone is. I would definitely go again there was so much to see.

An absolutely fantastic museum with acres of history, artefacts and items. Extremely worth the visit if you're in the area. A very comprehensive exhibit of items across many different areas. Very extensive collection, set aside a good hour or two. Both indoor and outdoor exhibits, rooms and machinery on display. I'd dare say one of (if not THE best) in the country.
