Eaglehawk Remembrance Park

Where do I start.Buried my dad there Feb 2018. We opened an existing burial plot, where my nephew was buried 34 years ago.The ceremony was lovely, but when we got to grave site there were about 5 chairs. Even my dads age (74) a lot of his friends were around his age. So there were limited places for people to, and site it self looked like it hadn't been watered in a long time.So there was no wind when burial commenced, but almost 10 minutes in the wind picked up and it was like a mini tornado. Everyone was almost blown away and the amount of loose dirt made it worse. Needless to say we had cut short the burial.For the last 12 months I have been asking for the staff at the Eaghlehawk Rememberance Park to please water the site. Please note I was told by Karen 7 months ago that the were going to water by using a sprinkler, as there is no underground sprinkling system there. I was also told there is drought. So we cannot water every day. I accepted their response and thought I will let them get on with it.So I have been to the grave site 6 times since my dad passed. The condition of the site has continually deteriorated, at one stage the site sunk and they had to fill it up with dirt.Noting: I called them about. Otherwise it would gone unfixed.Then a couple of weeks ago, on the 1 year aniverserary of my dads death. I was sent photos of the site, what terrible state.The area is so dry and dusty it looked like it hadn't been watered in years.So I rang them, no-one called me back. So wrote an email to the park representative Karen outlining my concerns and I received no formal response.However, I did receive a phone call from the site supervisor 3 days later. Basically telling me there they cannot do anything as there is not irrigation system in that part of the park. And they have no plans to fix the watering system for at least 12 months. And then it may not happen as there is no money. I said, can you a portable sprinkling system on it and he said no, as they do not have the resources. He confirmed that he is going to do nothing.I contacted the bendigo member for parliament last week and hoping they will get back to me with a solution. However, I will keep going until the grounds a the area of the Park has improved.
