The Dove Cafe
Excellent long black & very friendly customer service. Comfortable inside/outside seating in relatively quiet location. Plant boxes outside create pleasant atmosphere. Easy parking & relaxed vibe. Definitely worth a visit.

We sat outside as the weather was lovely in the cute garden out the back.Such a friendly bunch who work here!We had the pie of the day (beef & red wine) a BLT and bowl of chips to share for lunch. All were very good - especially the pie!The staff were busy bees attending to the steady flow of patrons, but not too much that they couldn’t have a little chat.We will definitely keep The Dove Cafe in mind when we’re next in Castlemaine.

The Dove Cafe
Went there today with my mum and sister. Ate outside which is probably not for those who own poodles, but we enjoyed it. The meals took a little while to arrive but they were well worth it. I had the beef burger and chips and it was fantastic! I had to deconstruct it because it was so huge. Everything about the meal was delicious. Both Mum and my sister felt the same. Staff were great. Will certainly be going back!!!

Bought a large late this morning. Possibly the worst coffee I’ve ever had from a cafe. Tasted like watery hot milk with a strange taste. I had to tip it out. Service at the window has always been slow.

Eclectic range of eating areas set amongst decor that evoked an older style. Choice of indoors and outside or several small rooms.I loved the sets of tea cups scattered on kitchen dressers.My hubby had gluten free lamb pie with salad and coffee.Mine was a croissant with ham and cheese and a decadent iced chocolate.All quite filling and a reasonable price of just under $40 for lunch.Staff were friendly.

Only had coffee, which was fine. The period furnishings are just wonderful and make the place very special.However, I found the staff pretty grumpy, sadly, and I hate the electronic buzzers that tell you to come and get your coffee. Very impersonal and detract from the ambiance.

What a great find. One of the best coffees l have ever had. Chicken foccacia was sensational, so tasty. Nice atmosphere and l loved the art on the walls.

This cafe would be good if the management was better... More than once I've been here and felt really uncomfortable about how this one male staff member treats the other staff. The atmosphere here is kind of tense, the coffee is definitely the saving grace but I probably wouldn't go back just based on how the staff are treated - maybe I have only caught him on bad days, ya never know.

The coffee is always tasty, friendly staff and I just love the tranquil atmosphere siting out in the courtyard. It’s also my greyhounds favourite hang out, she falls asleep within minutes
