The Original PC Doctor

Took my computer since Feb and still no updates on when they'll return it despite the technician Anand claiming that he's done fixing it. Don't be stupid like me and fall into this scam :)

I was forced to put a review by the technician who was in my house hold , barely done anything to the pc just moved a bunch of parts told me to keep them separate , didn’t fix the rattling on my pc entirely applied the smallest amount of thermal paste and the problem presented it self after I had just come back from overseas. Once Anand was in my house he rudely said “Get me a glass of water” upon realisation he added a *please my friend , after feeling the coldness in the air. Dissatisfying service.

I Found Anand to be very helpful and exteremenly knowledgable to what need to be done.I Contatced them few weeks ago and it took couple of weeks because Anand have to do data recovery which takes lots of time but he did it . I am very Happy with the outcome as i do understand data reocvery takes time.Thank You The PC DOC and ANAND

I booked the PC Doctor upon my friend’s recommendation. It seemed convenient and efficient as my MACbook pro has broken and they had promised same day repair.The technician, Marc, came over. He seemed friendly and knowledgeable enough. But I should have listened to my gut more. He spend more time looking through his phone. After an hour or so, he said he will charge me 135AUD for the time and labour. He has not done any repairs, mind you. All he did was open the back of my laptop. He remarked how clean and good it looked. He explained potential problems with it, but that they cannot fix it right then. He quoted me 500-600 AUD to send it to Melbourne. This would include 99AUD I would initially need to pay for “assessment.” I feel like he used the time “repairing” to search for how much my laptop would cost refurbished.I said I don’t have that much money on the budget. However, he said he can try one more thing. But that he needed to bring it away and return it on Friday.In my naivete, I agreed. This so-called repair was done on February 1st. It is now Sunday. The technician has called twice- once on Friday afternoon to say his work went over and he said he will come Saturday 2.30 pm. Come Saturday, I called PC Doctor again and Marc calls at around 4 pm, saying his son got injured, and he will return it Sunday at 9.30 am.I’ve made numerous calls to PC Doctor, and all they do is send messages to Marc to return my property. They told me that they cannot do anything except this and they won’t accept liability for the stolen property. I asked what the next steps are if he doesn’t return the item and all they can say is they will call me.**THIS IS A BAD COMPANY. DO NOT HIRE.**

I needed an old laptop to be migrated to a new one. The PC Doctor arrived right on time, was friendly, explained everything and saved me a lot of aggravation in trying to do it myself. I was very happy with the service.

My technician was James in Tasmania who worked with my old desktop remotely and did a magnificent job, I'm very pleased and happy to recommend him to anyone.

This has honestly been the most horrific company to deal with – in short, STAY AWAY.I lodged a job with ‘The Original PC Doctor’ on the 28th Nov 2022 to diagnose a hardware issue with my partners PC. 21 calls and 51 days later, I’m only just now (18th Jan) approaching a resolution (assuming the technician actually turns up).- From the get go, the technician (‘Anand’) didn’t turn up (with no phone call) to the first few appointments. I had to call and follow-up. Multiple excuses were given, including getting a flat tyre – I let that go.- The technician was unable to diagnose the hardware problem on first appointment, so required as second where they’d bring additional hardware. Two weeks went by.- The technician returns – is unable to diagnose the problem with the hardware they brought. So they take the PC.- From here, there is very little follow-up. I had to call the service line, and then arrange a call back each time with the technician, in order to get updates.- The technician gave MULTIPLE excuses for the lack of contact (when promised) & progress, ranging from their systems were down, they think they can repair the motherboard, their their overnight tests failed, the motherboard didn’t fit, the supplier didn’t have another motherboard and has to order one.- The PC has been taken for almost 5 weeks, and it is has been almost 2 months since the job was first lodged.- This is NOT a complicated issue – it was a hardware fault with a motherboard. It should be a simple diagnosis and, upon customer consent, replacement.What I’ve observed- You do not have the ability to contact the technician directly.- The technician I had was unreliable, gave every excuse under the sun to pacify you, and then proceeded to repeat the exact same poor customer service and behaviour (e.g. didn’t turn up or contact you when agreed).- When the technician ‘calls’ you, an SMS is sent. This technician knows how to trigger that SMS for auditing purposes with their company, but not allow the call to come through (as this happened 3 times to me in response to call back requests).- I was not given upfront pricing on parts or labour beyond the first appointment. As of writing this review, I have NO idea on the costs but I’m sure they’ll be exorbitant given how much time this technician has wasted, despite them promising that they'll take care of me".I would never use this company again - at this stage

I would avoid if I were you. The $99 fee quickly turned into $250. And when they found out I might claim it on insurance they wanted to charge me more again. In the end they couldn’t provide a quote to repair my laptop, because they weren’t sure what was wrong with it. They were hard to contact, not very helpful when I could talk to them. Was a great waste of time and money. Suggest you go somewhere local.

Helpful, friendly service. Managed to wring 6% more speed out of a mid-range laptop with dicky RAM. Using it has gone from frustrating to close to good as new. :)
