George Hartnett Metropolitan Funerals Wynnum

After attending my mothers funeral yesterday, I feel empty inside...a funeral is a time for family to say their goodbyes to their loved one. My mother passed away at 66yo from matastisised brain cancer...she was diagnosed in March and spent the last weeks of her life meticulously planning her funeral with George Hartnett metropolitan funerals. My mother did this to lessen the grief of her children, however yesterday at my mothers funeral, people were signing clip boards of plain paper...which had to them be addressed with the staff as my mother had picked a black leather bound funeral book. 2 of the songs my mother picked for her funeral were not played...the inferior equipment made it impossible to play our photo memorial and the facility itself is no more that a shed with pews...I am both devastated and my grieving process severely hindered because of that, NEVER USE THIS COMPANY, find a better place to farewell your loved one!!! If I could give a zero rating I would!!

I attended a family friends funeral and it was lovely. I spoke to the funeral director Taylah and she was very kind.

I cannot say enough about Elaine and the team from George Hartnett Metropolitan Funerals at Wynnum. I am so grateful for the recommendation from a third party as they did not disappoint. From the onset, I knew from my telephone conversations with Elaine that they were the right people to oversee my beloved sister's farewell. Her voice was calming and empathetic. They were professional, yet most importantly sensitive to our needs, warm, kind, caring and showed attention to detail tailoring everything around who the person my sister was. My sister's farewell was such a beautiful celebration of life. I have never planned or organised for such an event and Elaine calmly and attentively walked myself and our family through this whole difficult emotional process step by step. It helped tremendously to relieve the family off any unnecessary stress. They were so respectful busily working like bee's behind the scenes allowing our family grieve in silence and plan ahead with other arrangements. They were special people who made my sister's farewell such a beautiful celebration and wonderful treasured memory. Thankyou so much Elaine to you and your beautiful team. Blessings.

We used this companu to farwell my father in law. Therese at Metropolian helped us out so much. The funeral was planned perfectly and went off with out a problem. I wouldn't hesitate in using this company again. Thank you so much for your help

GHM Wynnum and the team are wonderful. They truly understood what it was we wanted for our mother’s funeral and as a result was given a beautiful service onsite. The team are genuine, attentive, empathetic and available to help in anyway they can.We used GHM Wynnum for our father’s funeral a couple of years ago and it was less than ideal. This business has improved greatly.

Where do I start!! We cannot thank Taylor, Shannon and the team at Wynnum for all their hard work and support. The day was absolutely beautiful and ran perfectly. We were recommended a celebrant to suit us and boy he did an incredible job. The love and kindness from the start was just absolutely astounding. Highly recommend them. Thank you all so much!

We went to George Hartnett funerals back in March this year to arrange a funeral for our loved one. We had no idea what to do or expect. As soon as we walked in we were greeted with a warm smile from Clare, who took us into a quiet room, sat us down and immediately we felt at ease. The process was quite daunting but Clare made it all seem so natural and personal. She explained to us the procedure of a funeral and then slowly guided us through the planning step by step. At no time did Clare rush us or try to push ideas on us. Clare made it very clear that everyone is different and we were entitled to plan the funeral how we wanted it to be. We asked Clare if she could suggest a Celebrant for the service and she gave us a choice of 2 that she felt would fit our situation. We chose Rod Schafferius. Little did we know how much of a perfect fit he would be. Rod came to our family home before the funeral and talked to us about our loved one and got to know about how special and amazing he was to us - we cried, we laughed and we just knew that Rod was the right person to choose for the service thanks to Clare's recommendation.On the day of the funeral everything just fell into place. Clare and her team, as well as Rod made us feel at ease and we felt as though they were just part of our extended family. Although it was a very sad occasion, we were very happy with the professionalism and how the day turned out with so many comments from friends and family about what a beautiful, personal, moving service it was. The recent funeral for my father was held at George Hartnett Metropolitan's beautiful chapel at Wynnum. The service was organised with such expertise I had no concerns. The staff were friendly, knowledgeable, helpful and very supportive and easily accommodated all my needs. They gave my father a beautiful farewell that could not have been improved upon. I would highly recommend them.
