Roper River Transport

I am currently travelling through Australia with a friend. Recently, when we were passing through Mataranka, we noticed a small problem with our car (it made a beep sound when the doors were open). We asked the lady at the reception if someone could have a quick look on it, explaining specifically that our only problem was the sound and explained it hasn't been there before and that it's not normal for our car. We were told that someone would have a quick look on it and see whether something could be done this or the next day. We were asked to wait outside, it should only take 20min. 1.5h later we saw the mechanic driving our car and finally leaving. So we went inside and after waiting again because 2 receptionists were talking to the same customer, we got told that the sound was apparently normal for cars. However, it took 1.5h and an unnecessary inspection to diagnose this. The worst part was that we still had to pay almost 40$ - for nothing, for the diagnose that it would be normal"

Very professional outfit . Needed new alternator, they had one in stock and replaced it while we waited. Had to call on them again when we blew the transmission 130 K's south of Mataranka. Used their towing service to tow the caravan and car back to Mataranka. Had the car back to us in 5 working days. Everyone we had contact with were friendly and professional and couldn't do enough to help us. For the work that was done on the car, the bill was a very pleasant surprise. Would recommend these people to anyone. Thanks guys ( and girls). Well done.

These guys are amazing. To find a crew like this in the middle of nowhere is remarkable. Honest and look after travellers like us. A fuse, oil change and tyre rotation within the day we asked. #roperrivertransportandworkshop at prices we'd pay back home.

Recently I encountered an engine overheating issue in my 200 series Landcruiser while traveling through Mataranka. Through a bit of good fortune, as their workshop is obviously very busy, RRT mechanics were able to investigate the problem that afternoon and correctly diagnosed the issue as a ruptured rear heater hose caused by contact with the vehicle’s long range fuel tank support.Travelers can feel a bit vulnerable when confronted with the need for vehicle repairs when they are a long way from home as we were. RRT's prompt response, the good advice of your mechanic and the fair and reasonable price charged for the work was a great relief to me and enabled us to deal with the issue and be on our way. Thanks for a great job.

The team here was friendly and helpful in dealing with a car problem we had on a long road trip. Jeffrey the mechanic was very thorough in assessing a problem with our Prado and quickly fixing so we could get back on the road. We also used the towing service to get our car and trailer towed back to Mataranka from Larrimah.
