Hooked Fish and Chips + Scoops Ice Cream

Amazing food & service. The new outdoor area is such a great area to sit with my kids and dog!

The fish and chip section was ok. You are going to wait a while when it’s busy. They just can’t handle that many people in a prime location. The chips needed more chicken salt and fish over cooked. Very overpriced.$28 for a burger with the lot, chips and drink. The batter was absolutely dripping in oil. My stomach felt so heavy afterwards.As for the ice cream section? Do not bother!! As soon as they brought the ice cream out from the fridge and onto the counter it was already dripping down onto the bench. I said I wasn’t paying for that one and to get me another one. I barely got this one outside before it turned into a drink. My kids had to drink their ice cream.Better off to save your money and buy a prepackaged one. At least you’ll know it’ll be cold.

Lovely staff, clean shop.Ordered grilled fish with chips for a fussy eater. Was covered in herbs on top (looked lovely) very spicy. Everything else was fine.

We had fish cocktail and calamari and chips today and it was great. Yes we had to wait for a little but not more than acceptable. It was only two people working there, one taking orders and one cooking. The chips could have done with a little more time in the fryer, they were a bit soft but the fish and calamari were excellent! Will def come back.

My order Salt pepper squid and my girlfriends flathead fish, both amazing food quality and for the price I think good.Chips are also a good option

We enjoyed the child’s serve fish & chips which was perfect for our group. The order of 28 serves was cooked, served and presented ready for us to collect with the minimum of fuss. It was an experience we repeated 3 weeks later with a smaller but enthusiastic group. The fish was cooked to perfection and the serve of chips a good size for older people. Every single person commented on how tasty and delicious it was. Great work Belinda on achieving this HUGE effort not once but twice! We highly recommend you visit this business for the freshest fish and chips lunch in Shellharbour.

Great burgers, nice soft buns and tasty fillings. Have also had decent fish here in the past and chips are somewhat standard but cooked and salted nicely. Looking forward to trying more of the fresh market options. Bit of confusion with pricing and the guy serving us didn't really seem to know which was was up, but hey it's Sunday afternoon, we've all been there. Definitely one of the better shops in the area, look forward to next time!

Hi all, I just wanted to write a quick review on the Fish & Chips meal I got here yesterday Jan 25th,....I have been coming down to beautiful Shellharbour on & off for years now & have always found the food at the Takeaway shops to be very fresh & yummy but I have to say that the Fish & Chip meal I got served yesterday (after waiting about 30 mins) from the Hooked " shop was bloody awful .The chips & scallops had been cooked several times by the taste & texture plus the crumbed fish had oil dripping out of it when I held it up to take a bite.....So I'm extremely disappointed to say the least but the Seagulls loved it so they can have it...Yuk!!!!Plus I tried to call them many time since to give them my feedback but they refuse to answer their phone....Don't bother folks look elsewhere!"

Fish and chips at the store is nice. The flake and chips was very tasty and was yummy. The flathead however was a bit more disappointing, was a bit bitter and very mushy. The wait time was standard as there were only two staff members taking our orders. Definitely not over 30 minutes like other reviews. Overall very happy with the food and service.

We have eaten here a few times. Always the seafood basket and snapper and chips is amazing and very tasty. Crunchy batter. Great value. We had the grilled marinated octopus this week and awful, chewy and very salty. Would definitely not recommend.Service is always great and always clean, ice cream and gelato amazing.
