Ingrid's Haven
Ingrids haven is worth the Drive. When i first commited to the idea of getting a cat i was scared man. I thought theyd try to push a cat on us and get us to buy more, or get the bad ones. But no, no preasure. We got this beauty toys food and litter for only 80$ and loads of support from Ingrid herself. Its helped us get up to speed on how to be good owners. And it was as easy as buying a burger, you can get 0 or 10 and no (if you can pick) and no one will judge you.

Ingrid is incredible. Her shelter is nothing short of remarkable. The cats in her care are so well looked after. Was very impressed by her shelter set up when I visited & loved the fact that she properly matches adopters to adoptees.

In 2021 Ingrid found homes for over 900 cats and operates this private 'no kill' shelter. The rescue cats and kittens available for adoption are all from 'death row' at the pound, rescued and cared for by Ingrid until forever homes can be found. Ingrid is on the side of the cats and thus is choosey who gets to adopt what. The potential owners are carefully screened then matched to the temperament of the cat and its needs to ensure a 'forever home' can be found. This is not a pet shop where you can choose any pretty trophy kitty to match your decor but an adoption agency for cats run similarly to if you were to adopt a child... We went in to get one cat and walked out with two and we, as well as the cats, couldn't be happier. That's Wholemeal (AKA Arnie and Huey) in the carriers looking forward to a better life. Both settled in quickly and now feel very much at home. If you're serious about adopting a fur baby, consider getting one from this privately run shelter.

Ingrid's Haven
Well priced considering that all proceeds go to the care and maintiness of the cats. Ingrid her self is a lovely and cheerful person always happy to give advice even after you purchase the cat. She genuinely cares for the cats and wants the best homes for them. The cats have their own personalities but many are very cuddly and others just need time. Cats come with a vet history a microchip vaccinated flead wormed and ready for a warm home.

Ingrid's Haven
I’ve long wanted to visit Ingrid’s Haven as it’s a no kill shelter and I had high hopes. Too bad I was severely disappointed. I’m sure the cats were lovely but we never got to see them. My family and I went to see the cats today in hopes of seeing if one might be a good fit for them. When we got there Ingrid was very abrasive from the get go, and when she found out we let our cats outside during the day and immediately dismissed us regardless of the fact that we don’t live near busy roads and we have paddocks behind where we live. I understand her concerns and her point but the way she approached it was disgusting. She said to us ‘your cat will definitely get run over and there’s no point in me doing what I do for you to take the cat home and it dies in two months’ and ‘we’re not in Europe’. Despite being quite taken aback we were polite, though she made it very clear we weren’t wanted there basically called us bad cat owners when she knows nothing about us or our cats. We were really taken aback and decided it was best to just leave and go elsewhere as the energy was quite hostile. Really disappointed with Ingrid’s attitude, so hostile and aggressive, even when I was speaking to her on the phone before the visit. I’ve never felt so disrespected before and I work hospitality. It’s a shame too, I’m sure more of your cats would be happily and safely re-homed if you changed your approach. After all, this isn’t Europe.
