We had a very negative experience with Burgess Rawson. Part of this was the fault of the owner of the property we rented but the lack of professionalism and poor communication from a number of agents at Burgess Rawson did not help the case. Without going into too much detail we needed to speak to a number of third parties including Australian Consumer Law, the Local Council and multiple certified builders to get anywhere with our concerns. We hope our experience was isolated and does not reflect the company as a whole but we would recommend that anyone thinking about working with this company knows their rights and makes sure everything is 100% clear before going ahead.

I had the worst experience with one of their agents that manages our property. There was a fault with an aircon unit on the roof which was improperly installed (on a brand new office). The aircon unit overflowed into the office because the drain was not installed. It did not fault until the summer. We sought assistance from the agent and she tried to blame it on us the tenant for not reporting the fault when we moved in - even though the fault was in the roof space so not visible and not apparent during winter. The same agent was also upset because she was called at 4:30 on a Friday afternoon - a time obviously highly inconvenient to her.

We have found Burgess Rawson to be professional and competent in all matters. This has been of great service to our Rottnest Island business and I believe also Rottnest Island in general.In particular, Portfolio Manager Graeme Perry has been outstanding in service to the RIA, with depth of knowledge and a professional outlook.

My family and I lease a Unit at Rivervale via Anneka. It was a pleasant experience from the beginning until the end of the lease period. Anneka is very helpful and informative. We had a great agent - tenant relationship. As long as I maintain the Unit clean and tidy, I never had any trouble with Burgess Rawson. Anneka also helped us in giving a good reference to our next landlord.

I have dealt with dozens of estate agents over the years, both here and abroad. These guys are by far the most incompetent that I’ve ever come across. Multiple issues and mistakes that directly caused the entire lease to fall apart. They have cost me close to $20k and refuse to admit any wrong-doing at all. Appalling. Do not do business with them!
