Very disappointing experience. I took part in a very badly organised marathon and when I left feedback afterwards I was publicly abused. So many things were wrong with this race such as no water at finish line, loveless briefing, only one checkpoint for a full marathon, no medals, rude organiser. Will never participate in any of their races again and won’t recommend them to anyone.

I have enjoyed multiple glasshouse races over the last 8 years since when Phil and his nice crew still ran them. However, as of AAA racing taking over, I have not had good experiences. I wish I could give positive feedback as Glasshouse has some beautiful trails. But each year (that I have been) the checkpoints have been poorly organised. The first year I did with AAA (daguilar 2 ups) the first checkpoint had not gotten any water delivered and many of us were desperate for it. The following glasshouse race was 6km over what was specified. I decided these two years might've just been an unlucky coincidence so I did another year. The third year I did, the organiser singled me out and had a go at me when I asked extra questions before the race. They proceeded to do so again to my family when I finished the race. Despite their confidence, multiple runners I was with had to double-check with organiser to turn around, otherwise the checkpoint staff would've sent us on the wrong race route. We got back on the right route, but only because we turned around and called the organiser to be told we should've been turned around.Due to the cold before race start, I left my jacket in a bag after asking, and being told where I could leave it. When I came back, my jacket was gone. This jacket was gotten for me by my best friend while he was in China. The organiser did not seem even remotely apologetic for losing it but they said they'd call me if it showed up. I'll update this review if I ever get it back. I suppose you could blame me for leaving a valuable jacket at the start line, but it's not unusual for people to leave their keys at the start line. And they might be less forgiving for losing that. And in the 42 races I have attended in the last 10 years, this is the first one where my belongings outright disappeared. So I assumed it would be safe.I should make clear, This is not a personal attack on anyone in the events and I always meet so many lovely runners in glasshouse every year. But compared to when Phil ran glasshouse, or a race like Brisbane Trail Marathon, the organisation is very poor.I noticed the organiser looks over all these reviews and hopefully they will professionally accept the feedback without giving a long, critical rebuttal like they did to another person who gave a low-star review. I only made this review because it deeply concerned me that a runner could be lost or sent on the wrong track in these events. And when you're running over 42 kilometers deep in the mountains, that is a recipe for disaster.- Hope to see the event improve for runner's safety in the future.

I recently attended AAA ultra race to support a friend.. unfortunately the experience was not great.. after an ultra you do kind of expect someone to be clapping for you.. but it was just me, who clapped my friend over the line. When they got in, there was water and soda refreshments available it wasn't ready to go.. it kind of felt like an afterthought.. And the race organiser was rude to my friend.I'd like to say this was the only poorly organised event I've attended, but I've attended other events organised by AAA racing with similar circumstances where I've heard the track was poorly marked and also limited if not any water available at checkpoints.Overall when runner comes in and is exhausted I kind would have expected a little more care and planning to be taken in such events.. running a marathon is no easy feat and when u get poorly treated at a poorly organised even it really says a lot about the people organising it.. especially when it happens multiple times at multiple events..

I gave these guys 5 stars but how much you like them is going to depend on how much you like running or spectating/supporting other runners. Their events have a nice balance of professionalism where it matters without taking everything too seriously, giving them a friendly, casual vibe. For example, the Glasshouse Trail Series is well supported with frequent checkpoints and good vehicle access for crew and race staff, so the team made the sensible decision to mandate only minimal compared to other SEQ races. Checkpoints are well equipped for best hygiene practices. Rumour has it a new scenic trail race is being added to the line-up.

I competed in AAA Racing's BUTTER24 on the weekend (3/4 June) and it was a truly special event experience. Yes, I know, I once thought track events must be boring too, but this is my 4th consecutive year at BUTTER and it is the most interactive ultra experience of all. The event always has a great sense of community but this year in particular had the best vibe and energy of all. The support, the runners, the facilities - set up your gazebo, tent and gear and run with the nicest people you will ever meet. I think I chatted to nearly every person there by the end of my run. Seeing people walking their entire event as well as speed demons aiming for records running simultaneously on a track with absolute respect for one another is really something special. As a long-time dedicated 50km runner, being at the start line of the 24HR event was achieved by a series of stepping stones made possible by Alun & the AAA Racing team. By continually adding new and interesting formats and events to the calendar to push our capabilities (I tried the Clint Eastwood last year in the leadup to this event), I was able to achieve something I wouldn’t have thought possible just years ago.Thank you Alun, Susannah, Cheryl and all of AAA Racing – you are the best.

Alun, the team and AAA volunteers make it possible for athletes of all abilities, ages and sizes to compete in events that are unique, friendly and relaxed all over SEQ and now in NSW.There are so many races on the calendar on trails, roads and a hybrid of both and the AAA have stood out as one of the friendliest. Despite not being one of the fastest Alun and the team welcomed me and others who are back and middle of the pack whilst still support the elite runners. Something that's not an easy task on 3 day events.Questions are answered, support is provided and nothing is ever too much. This year I will achieve my first 85km and 24 hour race due to the AAA team and I can't thank you enough. Something I thought was not going to be possible many years ago.Thank you for all you do for the running community and for the welcome you provide to us all.
