We're currently hiring VCE graduates for regular part-time tutoring.
The Engage Education Foundation is a non-profit charitable organisation that is currently seeking high achieving VCE graduates to tutor current Year 12 students.
Engage makes it easier than ever for Year 11 & 12 students to receive the support they’re looking for to do well in VCE. We’re offering current Year 12 students the opportunity to receive weekly tuition from someone who has recently finished Year 12 and scored well in the subject.
Although we’re a non-profit organisation, all our tutors are well paid and get to work for a fun organisation that is passionate about education. By becoming a tutor with Engage Education you are becoming part of an energetic and exciting team that is expanding dramatically over the coming year.
What do you get out of being an Engage Tutor?
You may have already thought about doing some tutoring yourself over the year. Tutoring with the Engage Education Foundation is easier and more convenient than doing it yourself. And you can even earn a lot more money!
We handle all the advertising and marketing of the Engage Tutoring program so you don’t have to waste time ‘spreading the word’ that you’re offering tutoring.
We then look after all the payments from students and parents for the tutoring to make it easier for you. You can be guaranteed of getting paid for the scheduled sessions regardless of whether the student turns up. You also won’t have to worry about students not paying you for your time and ending up being out of pocket. The Engage Education Foundation will simply pay you fortnightly for all the hours of tutoring that you have completed during that period.
All Engage Tutoring is held at the Engage Education Foundation’s Student Centre which is located at 211 Swan St, Richmond. This makes it effortless for you to get to – no need to spend time travelling to the students home which could be located ages away from you.
Once at the Engage Student Centre, instead of travelling to just tutor for one hour (as is often the case when doing tutoring privately by yourself) you can tutor for up to four or five hours – meaning your afternoons work could be up to $130! All without any need to waste any further time or money travelling to different students: the students come to you.
For Example: If you were to tutor 4 students privately during a week for 60 minutes, this could take you a total of eight hours assuming it takes about 30 minutes to travel to the students place or another location (4 x 60 minutes + 30 minutes travelling time there and back for each student).
Even if you were charging $35 an hour for the 4 hours of actual tutoring time, by the time you take into account the travel time and cost, you would actually only be making around $16 an hour. This is what makes tutoring with the Engage Education Foundation so attractive: you don’t have to waste time travelling or effort finding students – we do all that for you.
Applications are now open for Semester 1 2012. To apply, follow the instructions in the application form available below.
